I suffered a stroke and only have the use of one hand. I can use regular nail clippers on my right hand but this is the only solution I could find for my left hand. It weighs enough to keep it down and its non-slip base works fine if you put it along a vertical surface. I bought it 4 years ago and it's still going strong.

The slot you put your nail into is too small for most men's nails. It was too small for all but four of my fingernails to fit. Definitely not for men. I wish I had known before I bought this very expensive ($150) nail trimmer.

I wanted to give this 5 stars but there were problems. On my better hand it worked great but not on my weaker hand. My fingers curl in and even if I held and straightened them with my better hand, the way the product is shaped I still couldn't get my nail in the slot. If you can hold your hand up without support and keep your fingers straight it works. But I don't recommend it if your hand and fingers are weak and curl in.

This is actually a game changer for me. My left side is paralyzed so I’m always looking for family or friends to cut my nails for my right hand. Just used for first time today and it’s worked exactly as advertised. I think it’ll take some practice to get a really smooth and even cut as it took me a pretty long time for my first time using it to figure out but other than that, it’s amazing. Kinda expensive too, obviously, but ultimately worth it for me.

I used the product to trim my fingernails after a serious injury that prevented me from using one hand to trim the nails on the other hand.

It was a little awkward and not very smooth, but was useful for about 6 months while my hand regained strength.
